Skills Immigration - Health Authority

The British Columbia Skills Immigration program, working with the Health Authority, aims to recruit qualified healthcare professionals to address workforce needs. It invites doctors, nurses, and support staff, among others, to contribute to healthcare in the province, expediting their permanent residency process and benefiting both professionals and residents.

You may be eligible for the Health Authority stream if you are a doctor, midwife, or nurse practitioner.

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered eligible for this particular category, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Employment Qualification:
    • Possess a full-time, permanent job offer (the job offer should not be temporary or have a specific end date) from a public health authority in British Columbia.
    • Obtain a letter from a health authority or midwife practice group in British Columbia, confirming your professional status as a physician, nurse practitioner, or midwife.

  • General BC PNP Requirements:
    • Fulfill the general eligibility criteria set forth by the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP).

  • Healthcare Qualifications:
    • Satisfy the educational, training, experience, and qualification prerequisites stipulated by the public health authority.
    • To utilize the Express Entry BC option, you must possess an IRCC Express Entry Profile Number and a Job Seeker Validation Code, in addition to meeting the federal minimum language proficiency standards.
