About TOEFL

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) , is a standardized test for non-native English speakers to measure their English language proficiency. It is accepted by thousands of universities, colleges, and institutions around the world as proof of English language skills for academic and professional purposes.

TOEFL iBT tests the capacity of non-native native speakers of English to comprehend and use English in its various forms: written, spoken and heard in the university and college setting. It is administered through nonprofit organization ETS (Educational Testing Service)

iBT is an acronym for Internet Based Test, the most popular TOEFL test which is offered worldwide. Students can take TOEFL tests anytime, but no more than once in a 12-day span.The TOEFL exam is scored according to 120 Points. You will get a score for each section. The average of these 4 marks is your Overall Score.

Exam Pattern

Reading Section 3 – 4 reading passages, 700 words long 10 questions per passage (54 –72 minutes)
Listening Section 3 – 4 lectures, 6 questions per lecture 2 – 3 conversations, 5 questions per conversation (41 – 57 minutes)
Speaking Section 1 independent and 3 integrated speaking tasks about a familiar topic and discussing material that you read & listened to
Writing Section 2 tasks of writing essay responses based on reading and listening (50 mins)
Total Time 3 hours
Nature of Exam Computer Based Test (CBT) & Internet Based Test (iBT)
Total Scores TOEFL scores are out of 120 points
